Prof. P. R. Mukund has been on the faculty of Electrical Engineering at RIT since 1990. In this capacity, he has supervised the research of over eighty graduate students, published extensively in IEEE journals and international conferences. He is a past Guest Editor of IEEE Computer, past IEEE Distinguished Lecturer, Past General Chair and Steering Committee Chair of IEEE System on a Chip Conference (SOCC), and past member of the technical committee of Analog Signal Processing of IEEE Circuits and Systems Society. Dr. Mukund has been the recipient of more than $2 million in research funding from the National Science Foundation, Semiconductor Research Corp., Harris Corp., LSI Logic, RAMBUS Inc., etc.

Title of the talk: Veda and Electronics
It is a common belief that modern knowledge, particularly scientific and technical, is orthogonal to ancient wisdom and there is no overlap between the two. However, ancient Vedic scholars proclaimed that all knowledge, including those that pertain to matter is embedded in Vedic knowledge. In this talk, the presenter shares his research into this topic, particularly in his own area of expertise in electronics and integrated circuit design. Examples, from the basic to some advanced topics will be covered. Lastly, the presenter's experience in the application of Vedic wisdom to enhance professional success will be highlighted.
Rajkumar Buyya, Ph.D., Director of CLOUDS LAB, The University of Melbourne, Australia and CEO, Manjrasoft Pvt Ltd, Melbourne, Australia

Dr. Rajkumar Buyya is a Redmond Barry Distinguished Professor and Director of the Cloud Computing and Distributed Systems (CLOUDS) Laboratory at the University of Melbourne, Australia. He is also serving as the founding CEO of Manjrasoft, a spin-off company of the University, commercializing its innovations in Cloud Computing. He has authored over 750 publications and seven text books including "Mastering Cloud Computing"; published by McGraw Hill, China Machine Press, and Morgan Kaufmann for Indian, Chinese and international markets respectively. Dr. Buyya is one of the highly cited authors in computer science and software engineering worldwide (h-index=137, g-index=304, 101,000+ citations). "A Scientometric Analysis of Cloud Computing Literature" by German scientists ranked Dr. Buyya as the World's Top-Cited (#1) Author and the World's Most-Productive (#1) Author in Cloud Computing. Dr. Buyya is recognised as Web of Science "Highly Cited Researcher" for four consecutive years since 2016, IEEE Fellow, Scopus Researcher of the Year 2017 with Excellence in Innovative Research Award by Elsevier, and the "Best of the World", in Computing Systems field, by The Australian 2019 Research Review.
Software technologies for Grid, Cloud, and Fog computing developed under Dr. Buyya's leadership have gained rapid acceptance and are in use at several academic institutions and commercial enterprises in 50 countries around the world. Dr. Buyya has led the establishment and development of key community activities, including serving as foundation Chair of the IEEE Technical Committee on Scalable Computing and five IEEE/ACM conferences. These contributions and international research leadership of Dr. Buyya are recognized through the award of "2009 IEEE Medal for Excellence in Scalable Computing" from the IEEE Computer Society TCSC. Manjrasoft's Aneka Cloud technology developed under his leadership has received Frost & Sullivan New Product Innovation Award". Title of the talk: Neoteric Frontiers in Cloud and Edge Computing
Computing is being transformed to a model consisting of services that are delivered in a manner similar to utilities such as water, electricity, gas, and telephony. In such a model, users access services based on their requirements without regard to where the services are hosted or how they are delivered. Cloud computing paradigm has turned this vision of "computing utilities" into a reality. It offers infrastructure, platform, and software as services, which are made available to consumers as subscription-oriented services. Cloud application platforms need to offer (1) APIs and tools for rapid creation of elastic applications and (2) a runtime system for deployment of applications on geographically distributed computing infrastructure in a seamless manner.The Internet of Things (IoT) paradigm enables seamless integration of cyber-and-physical worlds and opening up opportunities for creating new class of applications for domains such as smart cities and smart healthcare. The emerging Fog/Edge computing paradigm is extends Cloud computing model to edge resources for latency sensitive IoT applications with a seamless integration of network-wide resources all the way from edge to the Cloud.
This keynote presentation will cover (a) 21st century vision of computing and identifies various IT paradigms promising to deliver the vision of computing utilities; (b) innovative architecture for creating elastic Clouds integrating edge resources and managed Clouds, (c) Aneka 5G, a Cloud Application Platform, for rapid development of Cloud/Big Data applications and their deployment on private/public Clouds with resource provisioning driven by SLAs, (d) a novel FogBus software framework with Blockchain-based data-integrity management for facilitating end-to-end IoT-Fog/Edge-Cloud integration for execution of sensitive IoT applications, (e) experimental results on deploying Cloud and Big Data/ IoT applications in engineering, and health care (e.g., COVID-19), deep learning/Artificial intelligence (AI), satellite image processing, natural language process (mining COVID-19 research literature for new insights) and smart cities on elastic Clouds; and (f) directions for delivering our 21st century vision along with pathways for future research in Cloud and Edge/Fog computing.
Supavadee Aramvith, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering, Chulalongkorn University, Thailand

Supavadee Aramvith received the B.S. (first class honors) degree in Computer Science from Mahidol University in 1993. She received the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington, Seattle, USA, in 1996 and 2001, respectively. She joined Chulalongkorn University in June 2001. Currently, she is an Associate Professor at Department of Electrical Engineering with specialization Video Technology. She has successfully advised 9 Ph.D., 27 Master's, and 32 Bachelor's Graduates. She published over 130 papers in International Conference Proceedings and Journals with 4 International Book Chapters. She has rich project management experiences as the project leader and former technical committee chairs to the Thailand Government bodies in Telecommunications and ICT. She is very active in the international arena with the leadership positions in the international network such as JICA Project for AUN/SEED-Net, and the professional organizations such as IEEE, IEICE, APSIPA, and ITU. She is currently a member, IEEE Educational Activities Board (EAB) and Chair, IEEE EAB Section Education Outreach Committee. She is also a member of Board of Governors of IEEE Consumer Electronics Society (2019-2021), Communications Chair, IEEE Humanitarian Activities Committee, IEEE New Initiative Committee member. She also chairs Region 10 Sections & Chapters Committee and is the candidate for 2021-2022 Region 10 Director-Elect. She formerly led Educational Activities and Women in Engineering for IEEE Asia Pacific (Region 10) from 2011-2016.

Title of the talk: Deep Learning-Based Video Analytics for Surveillance IoT Applications
In this talk, we will present and discuss the current trends and researches in video analytics. As surveillance cameras have been widely installed worldwide, although the main purpose of those cameras is for monitoring, but the most important task is to be able to analyze video contents and extract useful information. Deep learning-based computer vision techniques utilizing multi-layer neural network is drastically improving the performance of video analytics to a certain extent. Several on-going researches on deep learning-based video analytics such as image super resolution, real-time multiple face recognition system, video anomaly detection and several implementations of embedded video analytic system on FPGA and Single Board Computers will be discussed. Some possible scenarios of utilizing video analytics, IoT for Industries will also be mentioned.
Lakshminarayana Sadasivuni, Ph.D., Former Regional Officer AICTE Chandigarh, Former Scientist Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR)

Dr. Lakshminarayana Sadasivuni worked in All India Council for Technical Education as Regional Officer at North West Regional Office, Chandigarh. He worked with the National Board of Accreditation, and All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi. He worked as Principal Scientist from CSIR-NIO. He was selected in the Planning Commission (Government of India) as Deputy Secretary (Scientific) and Officer in RAW. He received Ph. D in Computer Science and Systems Engineering from Andhra University. He authored 40+ Research publications, holds a granted Patent from the USA. He edited several Proceedings of National and International conferences. He chaired several National and International conferences. Dr. Lakshminarayana Sadasivuni Chaired several committees in the approval, sanction process of several technical institutions in India. He also served as Member Secretary in the diploma level institutional committees of several states in India. He is also served as a Member of Fee review committees of several states. He is also a member of several committees of Accreditation of Technical Education under the National Board of Accreditation, India. He is a recipient of Fellow of Andhra Pradesh Academy of Sciences. He is a Senior Member of IEEE, Fellow IE(I), Fellow IETE, CSI, and many other professional societies. His professional interests include Data mining, Data visualization, Search Engines, and Web mining algorithms, and delivered more than 250 invited talks in Text Mining related areas. He guided many post-graduate level and doctoral students and chaired several International and National conferences. Human development inequalities stand a greater role with technology. Many inequalities in human development embody unfairness and some are due to technological development in that part of the world. Gross Domestic Product index, Education, Opportunities, and Social issues matter Human Development. Role of Technology plays a vital role in all these areas and visible clearly in real world. Few examples will be cited along with parameters to show the importance of Technology in Human Development at large.
